JAMES A. HOLLENBECK

            A memorial service and covered-dish dinner for James Austin Hollenbeck, 52, a former Lewiston restaurateur, will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Pioneer Park at Lewiston.

He died of complications of chronic liver disease Friday at his Spokane home.

            He was born September 27, 1943, at Lewiston to Wilbur and Dorothy Hollenbeck.  He grew up and attended schools in Lewiston.  In 1960 he joined the U.S. Army and served until 1962.

            He married Diane Smith.  The couple later divorced.  He worked as a chef at the Bollinger Hotel in Lewiston.  He married Marlene Borrel in 1966.  He owned the Red Angus Steak House during this time.  They were divorced in 1977.

            He moved to Spokane in the early 1980s and married Janice Sude at Spokane in 1986.  His wife died in February 1990.  He enjoyed country music, rodeos and fishing.

            He is survived by his father, Wilbur Hollenbeck of Lewiston; one brother, Herb Hollenbeck of Hardin, Mont.; one sister, Jeanne Felton of Lewiston; three sons, James Hollenbeck, Jr., address unknown, Michael J. Hollenbeck of Lewiston and Janzen J. Hollenbeck of Livingston Mont.; four daughters, Jamie Wallace, address unknown, and Joni J. Hollenbeck, Jessi J. Hollenbeck, Jenifer J. Hollenbeck, all of Lewiston; and nine grandchildren.
